As this year’s elections draw near, each of us has a duty to get to know the issues and candidates, then to support and vote for the candidates we believe best.
I’ve had the pleasure to know Rep. Matt Gaetz for 9 years. I’ve talked and worked with him on many occasions, and long ago concluded this is a young man devoted to serving his fellow man and his country unselfishly, honestly, and untiringly. I have enthusiastically supported him in past elections, and I’m eager do so again this year.
Matt is a man of conviction, unafraid to stand up for what he believes in, and his positions in Tallahassee and now in Washington have demonstrated his commitment to working for open, honest, effective limited government. He clearly understands government can be a source for great good, but he has also clearly shown he understands how far government has strayed from its proper role nationally as it corruptly enslaves us and our future.
Matt works every day for making our country a better place, with opportunity for all and malice toward none, and he has done this his entire career. Our region, our state, and our nation are better because of Matt’s efforts. We need him and men and women with his values and dedication in every public office in this land. I’m proud to have Matt as a personal friend, and I’m even prouder to have him representing me in Congress.
With young leaders like him, our country is in better hands. We all know that our federal government is and has been off the tracks for too long and has principally devoted itself to the interests of the people wielding power in D.C. and other power centers. Any benefit to the ordinary people of this country has been incidental for far too long.
Matt is dedicated to turning this around, exposing and uprooting corruption, making America once more the shining city on a hill that it has been and can be once more, a land of abundant opportunity for all.
We need leaders with a servant heart, and I will be working once again to send my good friend Matt Gaetz to Washington to continue fighting every day for all of us, showing that heart in everything he does. He has done that with honor his entire career, and I’m eager for him to continue making us proud of him and making our country a better place for our children and grandchildren.
He has the values, dedication, selflessness, and work ethic we need leading our government. God bless Matt Gaetz, and God bless our country.
Gaetz is fighting hard
It pains me to see how low some political candidates will go to get votes.
As a 19 year old in 1943, I left the University of Alabama to enlist in the Army Air Corps. My B-17 was shot down over Belgium, and I served the remainder of the war as a POW in a Nazi prison camp. Some of my crew members were so afraid to end up in a Nazi prison camp that they chose to go down with our burning plane instead.
Now, 75 years later, an unscrupulous candidate for Congress is suggesting his opponent, Congressman Matt Gaetz, associates with Nazi sympathizers and Holocaust deniers. Such a lie is an outrageous act of desperation!
I’ve known Matt Gaetz for 20 years. Seeing him grow up and serve his country in the Florida Legislature and now in the United States House of Representatives makes me proud. Congressman Gaetz is fighting hard to make sure our military is well-funded and has the equipment it needs to do the job we ask of them. Only someone not telling the truth would suggest Matt Gaetz is anything other than a great young congressman, one who ought to continue to serve our country for many years to come.
We need more honest and courageous people like Matt in Washington. A candidate who only criticizes his opponent is the one I am concerned about having in office. There is an old saying the hurt dog howls the loudest, thank you Matt for taking the high road. Congressman Matt Gaetz made a powerful impact in his first term in Congress and has done an outstanding job of representing all the citizens of Northwest Florida. We should all be proud.
