Rep. Matt Gaetz blasted Florida’s Broward County as a “banana republic” amid a post-midterm election dispute about uncounted ballots.
Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) filed a lawsuit against Broward County, alleging that officials there are hiding critical information about the number of votes cast and counted.
“I will not stand idly by while unethical liberals try to steal an election,” Scott, who is currently Florida’s governor, said at a press conference outside the Governor’s Mansion, as he slammed potential “rampant fraud” in his race against incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).
On “Outnumbered Overtime” Friday, Gaetz (R-Fla.) took issue with late-arriving votes in the county, noting that the number of ballots cast has increased by more than 80,000 since Election night.
